The Wage Subsidy was available from 27 March 2020 to 9 June 2020. It was for employers and self-employed people who would otherwise have had to lay off staff or reduce their hours due to COVID-19. This payment is no longer available.
If you’ve applied for the previous COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021, you need to wait until two weeks after you’ve applied before you can apply for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #2. If you apply earlier than this, your application for the new subsidy will be declined.
Some properties with exceptionally large energy bills receive help with these via the DIO Fuel Subsidy Scheme. If you are entitled to a fuel subsidy, DIO will pay your bills and recover a fixed monthly amount from your pay (fuel and light charges). An annual check will be made to make sure you have not overpaid.
