• What is VolunteerMatch and how does it work?

  Request donations. It’s a portal for volunteers to connect with the nonprofits, and in a way, it’s its own search engine specifically for volunteer opportunities. When thinking about all the places we could post online to solicit interested volunteers, VolunteerMatch was one place we absolutely wanted to have a presence.

• Where can I find volunteer opportunities?

  Volunteer Match has listings of volunteer opportunities on their website. I first heard of volunteermatch.org when I was in high school. Although volunteer work wasn’t even a mandatory requirement I needed to complete for high school graduation.

• What do you think of volvolunteermatch?

  VolunteerMatch (VW) = Good Idea, Poor Execution. The concept: Users make a profile w/in VW’s website to find volunteer opportunities that will fit user’s interests and volunteer organization’s needs. Within profiles, email alerts can be set up to highlight new matches between users and organizations. I found this email feature to be worthless.

• Why do I get more volunteers for my event?

  You get a larger number of highly qualified volunteers because you’re matched with people who are both passionate about and committed to your cause. And because volunteers are often interested in contributing their money as well as their time, we make it easy for them to donate to your cause.
