What is a shearwell set tag?
The Shearwell SET tag was first developed in 1990. Since then many millions have been sold worldwide, of which some 16.7 million are electronic (EID) tags equipped with an EID chip. It is the number one selling sheep tag in the UK.
Are shearwell sheep tags approved in the USA?
Shearwell has been supplying sheep tags to customers in the USA since 2013. The tag is approved as both a visual and an RFID tag under the National Scrapie Eradication Program. In September 2019 Shearwell received approval to supply plastic (non RFID) serial and flock ID premise tags through a USDA contract.
