A repeater is a very simplest facility that is used for network interconnection. Its major function is to receive network signals from a LAN terminal cable segment and regenerate them and then re-transmit the same signal in one or more cable segments in its original strength.
There are several ways to find the local repeater(s). Ask local amateurs or contact the nearest radio club. Each year, the ARRL publishes The ARRL Repeater Directory, a comprehensive listing of repeaters throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Computer Engineering Computer Network MCA Repeaters are network devices operating at physical layer of the OSI model that amplify or regenerate an incoming signal before retransmitting it. They are incorporated in networks to expand its coverage area. They are also known as signal boosters.
