Faithful Servants Suffer Willingly for Christ and Others. In verse 1, Paul says he is a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of the Gentiles. Paul suffered for Christ and also for the Gentiles. The very reason Paul was in prison was because he taught that Gentiles now shared the same spiritual privileges as Jews.
The Congregation of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity was founded. The Vatican granted approval to the Missionary Servants as a clerical religious congregation of the pontifical right. Missions were opened in Colombia and outreach increased to immigrants in the United States.
The Congregation of the Servants of Mary London/Cuves has remained an international Congregation with Sisters now in nine countries: France, the UK, Belgium, Austria, Canada, the US, Jamaica and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Many of these countries have lay Associate Programs.
Our Order, the Servants of Mary (also known as the Servites), has a rich history beginning in 1864 with a young French woman by the name of Marie Guyot. Marie, along with a small group of friends began a school in Cuves, France, a small village three hours east of Paris.
1919 – Father Flynn at St. Mary’s Parish in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, requested the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary to assume responsibility for a new Catholic hospital in that community. At that time, there were no sisters available to meet that request.
