Just at the foot of Canyon Road, the family-owned Nambé carries beautiful, practical, and artistic pieces like plates, bowls, silverware, and vases. Their signature metal alloy (discovered in 1951 north of Santa Fe, near Nambé) includes a 15-step casting process.
Appearing near black in color, the Noir Collection applies a deep, rich stain to its wood components, offering a contemporary makeover to Nambé’s signature mix of acacia wood and Alloy. Nambé’s Face Vase is a mid-century modern interpretation of the stunning Monolith Face Sculptures on Easter Island that brings function and style into the home.
Perfect for serving an assortment of veggies, snacks and more, the Cooper Crudité Tray features a divided glass server that rests securely on a wood base. Appearing near black in color, the Noir Collection applies a deep, rich stain to its wood components, offering a contemporary makeover to Nambé’s signature mix of acacia wood and Alloy.
The Pueblo of Nambé, home to one of the most spectacular natural waterfalls in the southwest, is situated in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and encompasses nearly 20,000 acres of high desert landscape. Nambe, originally “Nanbe”, meaning round earth, is one of six Tewa-speaking pueblos of Northern New Mexico.
Right above the waterfall, one can see the dam of Nambé Lake where boating and fishing is available certain times of the year; be sure to call in advance. There are also facilities for BBQ picnics, large gatherings, and camping. On our way out, we drove through the pueblo which happens to be the smallest pueblo I have seen so far; not much to see.
