Mt. Baldy is a family-run resort and has an old-school feel. It's also the closest ski resort in LA. Takes only about an hour from home base and it's right off the 210 freeway. Yes, it's smaller than the more popular resorts in the region, but the lines aren't as long.

The lodge stands today as a place to get away from the city and enjoy the solitude of clear mountain air and blue skies. Pictures from the past. Location: In the San Gabriel Mountains, Angeles National Forest, north of Claremont, at the base of Mt. Baldy (Mt. San Antonio).

This is a nice pit stop on your way to Mt. Baldy Ski Resort. You won’t need an Angeles National Forest Adventure Pass if you’re planning to use the lifts. The resort will make you pay a $5.00 parking fee. The volunteers at this site are friendly and willing to provide education on the history of the area.
The non-profit Mt. Baldy Conference currently consists of 11 member city Pop Warner Associations. Mt Baldy Conference is part of the Wescon Region of Pop Warner Football and Cheer.
Kids will get a kick out of the native wildlife on display inside the center. There are also displays of early Mt. Baldy settlers and another showcasing the mining history. They sell various souvenirs. If you see a t-shirt that you like I would just get it. The selection on the mountain is not much better.
