Runaway Bay Lions Club. Runaway Bay is coastal suburb located on the northern reaches of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The development of Runaway Bay started in 1972 to transform the subdivision into a residential and boating area.
The first club to hear the story was the Downtown Dallas Lions Club in the “birth city of Texas Lionism.” Jack Wiech, now president of the League, described the proposed camp in detail at this meeting on October 14, 1950. He pointed out, “that a child is handicapped through no fault of his own, and every child has the right to a happy childhood.”
The West Liberty Lions Club manages and maintains the grounds of Lions Club Park, including the concession stand. A new Splash Pad was installed on the north end of of the park in 2020. Click here to learn more about the Splash Pad. Lions Club Park is located on the east side of West Liberty.
