Japan International Karate Center (JIKC) was founded in 1962 by Soke Kiyohisa Hirano. JIKC is a traditional martial arts system emphasizing mental aspects such as respect, effort, patience, honesty and self-control, as well as the physical aspects of self-defence and physical fitness.
In each of those countries and in almost every single city that Goran went to, he was able to find and visit a Shotokan karate dojo. There are other excellent styles of karate, but Shotokan is certainly the most popular and the best-known karate style in the world.
One major format of full-contact sport karate is known as knockdown karate or sometimes Japanese full contact karate. This style of sport fighting was developed and pioneered in the late 1960s by the Kyokushin karate organization in Japan, founded by Korean-Japanese Masutatsu Oyama (大山倍達 Ōyama Masutatsu).
International Karate +, often abbreviated as IK+, is a karate fighting video game published in 1987 by System 3, originally for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum. It has since been ported to a number of other platforms. The Commodore 64 version was released in the U.S. under the title Chop N’ Drop .
