Your best and most efficient lines of communication regarding licensure are through your local regional office of education or intermediate service center. ROEs and ISCs have direct access to ISBE licensure staff and will reach out to ISBE if your question cannot be answered locally.
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Educator Effectiveness Department works in close collaboration with the state’s 39 Regional Offices of Education (ROEs) and Intermediate Service Centers (ISCs) to support our state’s 852 school districts and their educators.
How to create an account will be covered in your PBA Orientation. You will need your Social Security Number, address, phone number, and e-mail. Set Up an ELIS account with the ISBE. Write down your login name and password to remember it. Once you create an account you will be assigned an Illinois Educator Identification Number (IEIN).
