• What is the Hypertech tuner?

With its 3-stage tuning, the Hypertech Tuner provides the power a 6-liter power stroke diesel engine needs for towing safely and efficiently.

• Can I download tunes to my Hydra chip?

  This Download will allow access to the complete inventory of PHP Standard 7.3L Tunes all at no additional charge. The USB connection on the Hydra Chip itself will allow you to load tuning presets to your chip without having to take it to a dealer or send it back to PHP!

• How many calibrations are included in the Hydra tuning package?

  1023 Diesel is now only offering one package for hydra tuning, this will include the 6-7 calibrations listed below. You must specify the manufacturer and build date of your current 7.3L fuel injectors if they are not factory, in the notes section of this order.

• How does the Hydra plug into the computer?

  The hydra plugs into the computer with a flat ribbon cable that runs to the dash. The dash mounted LED switch is your controller for choosing your driving or towing program. You have the option to buy the remote tuning cable. This tuning cable allows you to change or add programming without ever pulling the chip from the pcm.

• Do I need to program the positions on the Hydra chip?

  No. The Hydra chip can actually function without any positions programmed, using positions 00 (Bypass) and nS (No Start). You can also program any of the positions you choose, even leaving some blank in order to separate groups of tunes.
