Been rung by HYC on 0161 850 5451? Steer clear of them
June 30, 2013 - 10:41 pm. I got a call from HYC (Help Your Claim) on 0161 850 5451 a few days ago. If you do too, here’s why I wouldn’t do business with HYC: When I asked where they had got my phone number from, they claimed it was supplied to them “by the government”. That in itself is highly implausible.

Had a cold call from HYC trying to lure me into the PPI reclaim rubbish. I've never had any PPI, but to shut them up I said I'd reclaimed milions, they cut me off dead. Been complaining via email 7 times and they wont tell me how they got my number, they say they "acquired" a database but wont say where from. Reoprting to Legal Ombudsman.

How much will HYC charge me on my claim?
The “Questions” web page stated, under point 7, “On success of your claim, HYC will charge a 30% fee + VAT on all amounts received. Our charges apply to the total value of the compensation received. For example, if you receive a settlement figure of £1000, you would be required to pay us £300 + VAT.
What do I do if I get called by HYC?
So if you get called from HYC, Help Your Claim and/or 0161 850 5451, I would advise you to politely end the conversation and walk away. Except for one thing. If you have had a similarly unsatisfactory experience, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner here.
