Residents of Greater Noida have raised a demand for a Greater Noida haat on the lines of Noida’s Shilp Haat and Delhi’s Dilli haat as a cultural and handicraft centre for the citizens of the area. They have also raised a demand for a super community centre or hall for Greater Noida for functions like weddings, engagements, etc, for residents.
Set up at Noida Shilp Haat in Sector 33A and scheduled to be opened to the public from Thursday between noon and 10 pm, the decor of Chokhi Haveli is traditional Rajasthani as is the cuisine, with unlimited helpings at Rs 450 per adult and Rs 350 per child for traditional Rajasthani thali.
On the lines of Dilli Haat or Khadi Mall, the state industries department is to open a ‘handloom haat’ on Fraser Road in the city. Clothes like Tussar silk of Bhagalpur, handloom items with Madhubani paintings, tikuli art, block printing and appliqué work will be available there, sources said.
