Kneading a basic bread dough by hand generally takes about 10 minutes to form adequate gluten. Flour can be slowly added to the dough as it is kneaded to prevent it from sticking, but care should be taken to not add too much. Adding too much flour during this process can create a stiff, dry dough.
If you choose to knead your dough with a hand mixer, you must stop the mixer every few minutes and check in on your dough. This is especially true if you’re new to baking bread and are still trying to learn the signs of over-kneaded vs. under-kneaded dough.

DIRECTIONS 1 Dissolve yeast and sugar in water. 2 Beat in ½ flour. 3 Add salt, oil and rest of flour (add more if needed to make handle-able dough). 4 Rise in oiled bowl. 5 Place on greased pan. 6 Add sauce, cheese, etc. 7 Bake at 450 20 -25 minutes (til brown).
