Ward incorporated Food for the Hungry International (FHI) in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1980. FHI was part of Ward’s dream to implement unified relief and development programs worldwide through an international partnership of supporting national organizations (NOs) or affiliates.
Our Purpose: To end poverty one community at a time. Our Promise: To graduate communities out of poverty in 10 years. Food for the Hungry is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to ending poverty - one community at a time.
Randall Hoag was appointed president of Food for the Hungry International, and Benjamin K. Homan was appointed president of Food for the Hungry/U.S. Since 2006, FH has consolidated its U.S. and international operations, led by President Gary Edmonds. In the fall of 2018, Mike Meyers was named CEO of the organization.
Hungry Harvest is a company that rescues fruits and veggies. They deliver this rescued produce to local doorsteps so that it can be used instead of thrown away. Each Hungry Harvest customer is helping to prevent food waste. What’s up with this food?
Food Share works hard to maintain the many wonderful partnerships within the community to feed our hungry. Food Share distributes millions of pounds of healthy food every year both through our own programs such as Senior Kits (CSFP) and Kids’ Farmers’ Market, as well as through distribution via our partner agencies.
