First Steps is administered at a local level in regions. These regions are groups of counties known as clusters. The Central Indiana region, or Cluster G, includes Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, and Tipton Counties.
Mrs. Byrd McPherson currently serves as the Executive Director of Darlington County First Steps (DCFS) and has held this position since 2008. Under her leadership, she has taken DCFS to new heights while engaging community partners to work together to a make a difference in the lives of young families in Darlington County.
Thanks for visiting Early Head Start at Richland County First Steps. Our program is designed for expectant parents and families with children up to age three living in selected ZIP codes within Richland County (see list below). Our program has both home-based and classroom based options for families.
First Steps EIP is a program that matches the unique needs of infants and toddlers who have developmental delays, or a birth condition that could cause a developmental delay, with Early Intervention services and resources within the community.
Services through First Steps are designed to meet the developmental needs of the child; Except in limited circumstances, First Steps does not provide services to meet medical needs. We understand it is not always easy to recognize if your child is reaching his or her milestones for their age group.
