Contact someone directly from their profile in Delve, through email, phone, or Skype. To make it easier to know when to reach out, Delve gives you a peek into what someone’s day looks like by showing the free/busy information from their calendar.
The beauty of Delve is that it not only pulls the information from Active Directory, but also allows the users to update certain information and add some more (projects, skills, hobbies, etc.) And you can search Delve by searching people as well as those custom attributes I mentioned above (projects, skills, etc.)
Users can update their information, and also specify whether the info will be visible to everyone in the organization or just the user itself. One of the most frequent questions on Delve that I get – to what extent, you, as an Administrator have control over the fields and its content.
The contact information you can change in Delve has a small pencil next to it. Click the pencil to edit. Except for the About me text, changes are saved automatically. When you’re done updating, click your name at the top or the bottom of the edit page.
Where is Delve information coming from? It is a great question. Delve gets all the information from a magical place called SharePoint User Profile Service. Now, the information in the User Profile itself comes from either an on-prem Active Directory, Azure AD or Exchange.
