AIRCRAFT AND PERSONNEL AUTOMATED CLEARANCE SYSTEMS (APACS) The APACS system is a web based system that can be accessed from any internet connected. computer. It standardizes the format of the clearance requests and provides a single communication.
In APACS, under the “traveler” tab, and “travel notes”, all travelers must provide emergency contact information (see example below). If your travel plans are uncertain, include as much information as you can, with a note that you will subsequently update the information in APACS.

APACS is mandatory for processing DoD-sponsored official foreign travel and personal leave travel for active duty and reserve military in all Combatant Commands. APACS is the web-based tool to create, submit, coordinate and approve aircraft and personnel travel clearances (Special Area, Theater and Country) for official and personal travel.
*APACS requests for leave are reviewed in order of date of travel. Because of the high volume of APACS requests received by SOUTHCOM, travelers may not see immediate action by the Theater Clearance office.
